 As a centre of commerce, transit and recreation, the port of Ouchy has always been a busy place. Situated 10 minutes by public transport from the town centre and station, it is the location for Lausanne summer celebrations: festivals, giant screen, various fairs, etc. On the same site it combines uninterrupted views of the lake and the Alps with a large, flat expanse, the place de la Navigation, which is the heart of the port of Ouchy.This area is the ideal place to stage the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as all the festivities that accompany these world championships. A marquee will be set up there, together with a stage. It will also be the ideal place for the presentation of medals and the closing meal. The opportunity to organise events of this nature at this time of the year in one of the city’s most popular and attractive spots will, without a doubt, be one of the factors contributing to the event’s success. |
