The Organising Committee, Swiss Orienteering, the Lausanne authorities, leading tourism and business figures and the Canton of Vaud are happy that the World Orienteering Championships 2012 will be held in Lausanne.

The World Championships will consists of four events men and women, beginning on 14 July with the Sprint and concluding the week on 21 July with the Relay.

Parallel to the elite's programme the Swiss 5 days will take place in Lausanne and its region, most of the courses in championships' terrain.

The Organising Committee is composed by orienteering experts from throughout Switzerland as well as by people with a wide range of experience in event management.
